Significant Accomplishments and experience

Twenty three years of increasing responsibility and experience in the design, engineering and construction of a wide variety of industrial facilities, knowledge management, department management, information technology and internal company operations.

Served as the first Engineering Knowledge Manager in Fluor Corporation. Developed and implemented a wide range of KM processes, procedures and systems that improved how company knowledge is shared with context, and how people connect to the expertise they need around the world. Implemented processes to save and reuse valuable knowledge, while reducing the time and effort required on projects. Closely involved in strategy, budgets, training and other global issues across Engineering groups. Acted as mentor for other Knowledge Managers. Worked closely with Global Functional Leaders in developing engineering standards, procedures, systems and consistent work processes that were applied worldwide. Traveled to many Fluor offices.

Assisted the company Global Automation Team to introduce, develop and implement a number of collaborative work process and project automation solutions worldwide for Fluor Daniel. Increased productivity through impacting the cultural as well as the technical approach to how Project and Office information is created, processed, shared and delivered. Developed and implemented enhanced Project Procedures, Project Automation, and Information Management procedures for projects.

Responsible for the administration of the Electrical and Control Systems department in the Fluor Daniel Chicago office. Also responsible in a portfolio role as the Chicago representative on the Fluor Daniel Global Automation Team, to promote and implement a wide range of automated work processes and information cultures on projects. Responsible for department (and cross-department) strategy, planning, budgets, manpower planning, salary administration, performance appraisals, career development and training of up to 70 individuals. Managed staff and operations through an office closure.

Charter Member of the Fluor Daniel Global Internet/Intranet "Virtual Team". Planned, developed and implemented a global Intranet focused on introducing new work methods and improving the execution of projects in our company. Developed and implemented the Chicago office segment of the corporate Intranet. Then in a more global role, sponsored and implemented several successful Intranet resources for projects to aid in sharing work across office locations, team collaboration and interaction.

Developed, planned and implemented the Fluor Daniel Engineering Workbench. Workbench is an approach to project execution that consists of enhanced ways to categorize information, consistent data structures, over 100 engineering applications, new standards and procedures, and basic information sharing methods. Directed the activities of a multi-office group of individuals, developed the business plan, and organized training.

Project execution experience in Food, Consumer Products, Telecommunications, Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Power, Continuous Emissions Monitoring, Metals and Automotive industries. Significant experience working in operating plant environments. Project execution experience as Project Manager, Project Information Manager, Project Engineer, and Lead Discipline Engineer ranging across proposal, presentation, scope of work, estimating, scheduling, enterprise master planning, preliminary engineering, detailed engineering, systems integration, installation, checkout, startup, operation and closeout phases, including re-integration of lessons-learned back into the cycle.
